DESCRIPTION:Join Jessica Rost\, LeftCoast’s artist in residence\, for a live nettle soup demonstration at Abingdon Street Market on Thursday 12th March. \nAs part of her Medicine in the Rubble project in Revoe\, Jessica is growing a medicinal garden with the community celebrating “pioneer plants”\, which are often overlooked as weeds. \nWatch her transform freshly picked nettles into homemade soup and learn how every part of this remarkable plant can be used as medicine. Rich in iron\, an anti-inflammatory\, and cleansing for the body\, nettles are powerful and delicious. \nDemonstrations take place at 1pm and 2pm. Come along\, learn something new\, and take the recipe home with you.

DESCRIPTION:The Tray-Mendous Dash officially launches Blackpool Restaurant Week 2026\, celebrating the people who keep Blackpool’s restaurants\, bars\, and cafes running day in and day out. \nTaking place at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom\, hospitality competitors from local venues will take part in a fun and light-hearted challenge\, carrying trays with three flute glasses of coloured water along a course with curves. \nThe focus is on balance and control\, not speed. The Dash is a competitive event with individual winners and prizes\, and is designed to be inclusive and accessible to participants of all abilities\, with adjustments provided where needed. \nIf friends and family would like to come along to cheer you on\, they are very welcome. To help manage access through the Tower and into the Ballroom\, a registration list will be in place on arrival\, and attendance will be limited to family and friends of competitors only. \nIf you’re a participating venue in Blackpool Restaurant Week 2026 and want to take part\, email admin@blackpoolbid.org to register your competitor(s). Our partnership with Blackpool & Fylde College will also continue\, giving catering students the chance to shine and show off their skills alongside local chefs. \nFrom one-off tastings to guest chef appearances\, Blackpool Restaurant Week will bring something new to the table and make it easier than ever for people to try somewhere different. \nSue Grindrod\, Managing Director of Blackpool BIDs\, said: “The first Restaurant Week was a brilliant start and the town really got behind it. 2026 is about raising the bar\, with more choice\, more events and more reasons for people to celebrate Blackpool’s food and hospitality.
